Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

My neurologist suggested I have a tension headache based on my pre-sx examination. Sx did not happen for carpel tunnel syndrome, and I went into anaphylactic shock, and so was called off. Also, I have an allergy to antibiotics like penicillin and cephalosporins. I have a history of carpal tunnel syndrome and a partially torn rotator cuff. have a family history of IVDD. Also, my RA levels are elevated. Why do I have pain sensation in my temporal lobes during the headaches?

Kindly advise.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern.

Kindly let me know about the type of headache whether it is dull, aching, or throbbing type. Is there any nausea or vomiting? Is there any sensitivity to light or sound? Are you going through any stress? How is your sleep pattern? It can be a tension headache, but it is important to rule out migraine.

I hope this helps.

Thank you.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

Thank you for the response.

I have dull and throbbing pain that lasts for days sometimes and recurs a few times in a month. Dehydration triggers the pain as well. Also, I have a lot of stress. The muscles in my neck and shoulder are very tight.

Kindly help.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

Are you doing meditation, deep breathing exercises, or taking any stress pills? Did you get an MRI (magnetic resonance imaging) or CT (computed tomography) scan of the brain done? Are you able to get a sound sleep of seven to eight hours at night? Management of tension headache requires both medicines and lifestyle modifications.

I hope this helps.

Thank you.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

Do my symptoms suggest tension headache?

Kindly advise.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

The symptoms are suggestive of tension headache. You can get an MRI scan done. Also do regular physical and deep breathing exercises to keep the stress levels low. Take care.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
