Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I have yellowish color sore on the back of my throat. What is the reason behind it? I have attached the picture for your reference. Please guide me.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I had a detailed look at the picture you have sent us (attachments removed to protect the patient's identity). The yellowish patch over the back of your throat could be due to some underlying irritation over the mucosa due to allergy-induced secretions from your sinus causing post-nasal drip or could be due to silent acid reflux. In most circumstances, these non-dangerous yellow patches over the throat are hypertrophied lymphoid follicles which persist for quite some time and have no or little response to antibiotics as they do not treat the patch directly. Anyhow, even if the yellow areas persist, do not bother about it too much. Please do not worry about this. I hope this helps you.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
