Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

A few weeks ago, I had an incident where I used a condom that was too tight. The following week I had pain, numbness, and erectile dysfunction. After three weeks, it seemed to get back to normal. The pain was gone, the numbness reduced, and I could get erections again. But since then, I have had random flare-ups. For example, for five days, everything might be normal, then suddenly, the erectile dysfunction and numbness are back for another three days. This cycle has been happening for nearly three weeks so far. Yesterday everything was fine, but today I woke up with no morning wood, and numbness has returned. I also experienced some slight burning for the first time yesterday. When I recover from a flare-up, the situation seems to get slightly better. Do you know what might be causing this? Should I abstain from masturbation? I have tests scheduled for next month. In the meantime, my doctor put me on tablet Tadalafil 5 mg to take every day until I see him next.

I would like to have your suggestion, doctor.

Thank you.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Burning and dysuria might be from urethritis which is inflammation. If you are using a condom for masturbation, it is better to use oils like olive oil. All issues are with a condom, so changing the condom type to a non-allergic one is better. Tablet Tadalafil 5 mg can help in erection and also urinary flow. Please carry on with your tests and follow up with the results. But I think urethritis is due to allergy and liquid from condoms rather than infection. You need the above simple precautions and never use a tight condom.

Thanks and regards.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

Thanks for your response.

I do not masturbate with condoms. I had sex with a tight condom that was painful, which caused the initial issues. But now, my symptoms fluctuate. My penis would go back to normal one day, then a few days later, I experienced numbness again. These fluctuations have been happening for nearly three weeks. Is this something urethritis can cause? If there are other possibilities, please let me know. When I first presented with these symptoms, I think I was told it could be nerve damage or a venous leak. Could my symptoms be from my body recovering from nerve damage or a venous leak? Does abstaining from all masturbation and sexual activity help with recovery?

Thank you, doctor.

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

Firstly, nerve damage is not easily happening unless wearing that tight condom was for a few hours. Secondly, a venous leak will cause erectile dysfunction. I do not think it is a venous leak, and it might be a mild degree of nerve injury that will heal. Healing will take six weeks. Meanwhile, I suggest you take (consult with a specialist doctor, talk with him or her, and take medicine with their consent) tablet Neurobion (Calcium Pantothenate, Cyanocobalamin, Nicotinamide, Pyridoxine Hydrochloride, Riboflavin, and Thiamine Mononitrate) thrice daily for four weeks. During a recovery period of six weeks, please avoid sex or masturbation.

Regards.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
