Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have itching, and I am applying Econazole nitrate 1 percent plus Triamcinolone acetonide 0.1 topically, but it is not very effective.

Kindly help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern.

The condition is known as tinea corporis or dermatophytosis. It is a type of superficial skin infection. It can affect the groin, buttocks, or any skin area along with the nails. I would suggest you to use the following medicines for two weeks and then follow up. Take capsule Itraconazole 100 mg twice a day, use cream Luliconazole once at night, and tablet Levocetirizine 5 mg once at night. Keep your clothes, including towels, separate. And stop what you are applying which has steroids in it. A steroid is not the treatment for fungal infection. It will only temporarily reduce the redness, but as soon as you stop it, the condition worsens. Do follow up after two weeks. Take care.

I hope this has helped you. Please feel free to reach me again, in case of further queries.

Thank you.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

Thank you for the reply.

I have allergic rhinitis and asthma. Please suggest some medication for me. Thanks a lot.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

You can take these medicines even if you have allergic rhinitis and asthma. However, you have to consult a pulmonary specialist to treat those conditions.

Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further.

Thank you.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
