Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I had tooth pain for a while. I used salt water to stop the pain. However, I feel that mouthwash is what killed the pain and connecting nerves. The pain has stopped completely and for good. Soon after, the tooth came out by itself. The visible tooth, not the part within the gum. Should I remove the remaining tooth inside the gum? Is there any danger that I do not know about if I leave the remaining tooth? Sometimes I take blood pressure medication.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I have gone through your question, and I can understand your concern.

No, there is no such dangerous concern if you cannot extract it. But the root stem is vulnerable to infection, and it may lead to a dangerous one too, if not treated at an early time with antibiotics. So, my opinion is to get it removed to prevent future infection. In case of infection, you will have to remove it, so why not early.

Hope my answer will help you.
