Is it advisable to use Keto soap to recover my skin after stopping Melacare cream?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I use Melacare cream for the past four years. Now I want to stop using it. But when I try to stop, it produces irritation and turns my skin into very black. Can I use Keto soap to recover my skin?

Hi,

I am glad you chose icliniq for your medical-related queries.

I understand your concern and will try to help you with it.

Your condition is known as topical steroid dependent face (TSDF). Melacare has steroids and it is not advised to use it for more than six weeks and you are using it for the past four years. Use the medicines I am prescribing. No, Keto soap does not have any benefit in this condition.

Thank you for consulting me.

You can always reach me at icliniq.com.

Probable diagnosis

The probable diagnosis is TSDF (topical steroid-dependent face).

Treatment plan

The treatment plan is Tacvido Forte 0.1 (Tacrolimus) cream once at night. 2. Metrogyl 2 % (Metronidazole) cream once in the morning. 3. Suncros lotion (Octinoxate, Avobenzone, Oxybenzone) all over the face before going in the sun. 4. Tablet Allegra (Montelukast and Fexofenadine) 180 mg once at night. For one month.
