Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am a student. My TSH value is 6.52 mIU/L. Even though I am controlling my diet, I feel sleepy throughout the day, which is affecting my studies. Can you please prescribe me some medicines?

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern. Thyroid treatment is started only when TSH (thyroid-stimulating hormone) levels are greater than 12.5 mIU/L. However, if the patient develops symptoms at a value of less than 12.5 mIU/L, treatment can be initiated early. I suggest you take a tablet Thyronorm or tablet Eltroxin 25 mcg (Thyroxine) once daily, one hour before breakfast. You will start feeling much better within a week.

I hope this helps.

Kindly revert in case of further queries.

Thank you.
