Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have yellowish or sometimes white smelly discharge. My menstruation is not normal as well. It is dark and with many tiny blood clots. When I am stressed, I noticed that a more smelly discharge is coming out. It started last year, but it is tolerable. I had a miscarriage as well. But before my miscarriage, I already had the discharge. I do not feel any pain, but the discharge is itchy. I am not under any medication. Kindly help me.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern. It looks like you have an infection. Thick curdy white discharge with itching and smell can point towards a yeast infection, whereas watery yellowish discharge point towards bacterial infection. Both have to be treated with anti-fungal and anti-bacterial. Also, it is important to get a vaginal swab to see for the type of infection. It is also important to treat your sexual partner, if any. Bacterial and yeast infections in early pregnancy can cause miscarriages. As for irregular periods, if there is a pelvic infection, this might occur. Hence you must visit a gynecologist, get the required tests done and start treatment. I hope this was helpful.
