Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I had a C-section two months back, after which I experienced bleeding and on and off spotting until ten weeks. So, my doctor prescribed me with tablet Meprate for 20 days to control bleeding and spotting. However, I am experiencing the same even after taking the medication for ten days. I am worried, please help me.

Hello,

Welcome to iCliniq.com.

I read your query and can understand your concern. However, bleeding after C-section (cesarean delivery) may be due to residual tissues or infection. So I recommend taking antibiotics for seven days as per your doctor's advice. If further evaluations are required, please take the following tests:

1) Ultrasound of the abdomen and pelvis.

2) PT/INR (prothrombin time and international normalized ratio) and coagulation profile.

3) Urine routine and culture test.

4) Thyroid profile.

5) Complete hemogram.

6) Microbiology test of vaginal discharge.

These tests may help you to narrow down the causative problems.

I hope this will be helpful.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
