Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am 60 years old. I usually take Viagra 50 mg from time to time with good effect. Now I have high blood pressure, and it is maintained at 140/80 mmHg. I take Telma 40 and Loprin. I have no blood sugar. Please advise whether I can take Viagra or not.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

You have not mentioned how much time elapsed for you to take blood pressure medications. If you have been on medications for a couple of weeks and you have pretty good control over the blood pressure, then yes, you can take Viagra (Sildenafil) the same way you were taking it before. Sometimes patients on antihypertensive medications get issues of dropped blood pressure or hypotension on taking Viagra. So, if you feel dizzy, disoriented, or nauseated, remember that these will be the side effects of Viagra. In that case, go to your treating physician for help and stop taking Viagra. Continue taking blood pressure medications as advised.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
