Is it safe to continue taking Divalproex sodium for a long time?

Hello, Welcome to icliniq.com. I read your query and understand your concern. I have taken note of your mention that you have been on Depakote (Divalproex sodium) 250mg for a year, along with your past history of depression and previous use of Risperidone 1mg. I would like to understand whether you started taking Depakote during a depressive episode or if there was a history of mania. Bipolar Disorder comprises two distinct phases: Depression, characterized by low mood, reduced energy, decreased interest in enjoyable activities, poor concentration, low self-esteem, sleep and appetite changes lasting for around 2 weeks.

Obsessions are the repetitive, intrusive, unwanted , useless thoughts which are not in one's control and causing distress Compulsions are the repetitive motor acts to neutralize the distress caused by the obsessions. With you , it is like reassurance seeking, doubt whether you did right or wrong and checking it all are obsessions

I get constant intrusive thoughts in my mind. What to do?

Hi, I understand your problem. The problem what u have mentioned looks like your are suffering from repetitive , intrusive thoughts which are called obsessions. Before going to diagnose need further information like, the stress which you mentioned need further details in that.. And also your mood , energy levels, performance in your work, interests in doing pleasurable activities, concentration levels, sleep . And need further information regarding the repetitive thoughts ,how frequent the thoughts, how much distress you are going through because of thoughts, how you are managing the thoughts.
