Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am a 19-year-old female. My stomach and hip hurt, and my stool and farts smell bad. What should I do?

Kindly help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Thank you for your query.

I understand your concern. Since when do you have these complaints? Is there any associated diarrhea or constipation? I suggest you to follow a few instructions mentioned below.

  1. Rule out H.pylori (Helicobacter pylori) infection by taking a urea breath test (if you have had the complaint for a long time).
  2. Include more fiber in your diet, such as whole grain, wheat bran, fruits, green leafy vegetables, etc.
  3. Avoid spicy food.
  4. Avoid tea and coffee.
  5. Avoid gas-forming foods, such as cabbage, cauliflower, turnip, etc.
  6. Take tablet Rabeprazole (proton pump inhibitor) 20 mg once a day for a week.
  7. Take antacid syrups containing Simethicone (an anti-foaming agent).

Kindly consult a specialist, talk to them and take medications with their consent. Follow up for more investigations if the problem persists.

I hope this has helped you. Thank you.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
