Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am 23 years old and have a history of black and whiteheads, acne, and other skin conditions that have left me with scars and numerous open pores. I have been receiving carbon dioxide (CO2) and peel treatments for the past seven months, but even after six sets of each, I did not experience a significant improvement. I eventually had additional breakouts and skin darkening. I had to quit the treatment since it was not really helping. My skin tone has significantly decreased and is rather dull after laser treatment. Since having suffered from acne for 15 years, I have no idea how to improve it any more. I also need to lighten my skin tone. Kindly help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I read your query and can understand your concern.

Due to the hormonal changes of adolescence, acne affects everyone in the age range of 15 to 25 years. However, depending on the grade and seriousness of the situation, there are numerous effective treatment options. Pricking it repeatedly causes infection, which is followed by pigmentation and scarring. A combination of Benzoyl peroxide and Adapalene may be required for at least four to six weeks, based on your medical history, in order to treat your acne. Then the appropriate steps for pigmentation and scar repair can be done. You could even require a course of antibiotics if there is an infection that is still present. I sincerely request that you share suitable pictures of your current skin condition so we can make a more accurate recommendation.

I hope I have answered your question.

Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

Thank you for the reply.

I used benzoyl peroxide before obtaining laser hair removal, but these are only short-term solutions and are not very successful. Kindly help.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

I read your query and can understand your concern.

It looks like grade-three acne from looking at the picture (attachments removed to protect the patient's identity). Since acne is a recurring problem, maintenance therapy is necessary to stop recurrent outbreaks. Please refrain from popping your pimples.

I hope this helps.

Thank you and take care.
