Hi doctor,

I am 31 years old. I was diagnosed with prediabetes at the age of 14. I did not focus much on it until in my 20s when I got diagnosed with actual diabetes with an Hba1c of 12 or 14. Eventually, I was put on insulin. My first orders were 10 units of Levemir at bedtime and to go up three units every three nights until my fasting blood sugar was below 120. Fast forward to now, I have stopped at 200 units of Tresiba with 15 units of NovoLog with every meal and 1000 mg twice a day. I eat pretty well. No one really eats perfectly, but I focus on a low-carb and no-sugar diet. Also, I have an enlarged thyroid, and my liver is fatty with abnormal things on it. I have neuropathy and a weird rash.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I just read your query, and from what you have attached (attachment removed to protect patient identity), it appears that these rashes are idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura. These are usually acute and self-limiting and occur in women between 20 to 40 years of age group. They are mostly present in those with autoimmune disease conditions. They are benign and usually go away on their own over weeks.

Hope you find my advice beneficial.

Good luck.
