Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

For the last year or so, I have been dealing with anxiety. It started with a panic attack, and I have dealt with anxiety in the past. Most recently, I did not feel anxious or have had panic attacks for the last six months. As of the previous two weeks, my anxiety seems to be back. Also, I had constant muscle twitching that doctors said was caused by stress and anxiety. Kindly help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Anxiety relapse can be due to physiological, biological, or sociological triggers. The symptoms you described are due to anxiety, and you need to know why you are getting it in the first place. Stress is a reason, but why are you not able to cope with the stress? What do you need to learn or unlearn to manage stress in a healthy manner, probably like you used to? Also, going deeper and finding the unhelpful thoughts causing you to feel or behave this way. I would suggest you understand this and start therapy sessions. Cognitive behavioral therapy is a great technique to help with anxiety and medications in moderate to severe cases. So, continue the medicines prescribed by your local psychiatrist and start therapy. You can find a local therapist or opt for online therapy sessions via video consultation. I hope this helps.

Thank you.
