Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

It started with what I thought was a yeast infection, but I had so many bumps which I had never experienced. I tried to get rid of it myself, not smart, but what is done is done. Honestly, I just took lots of probiotics, tried to eat well, and used oils with antibacterial properties. It would get better and worse. I saw a doctor. I am not sure if it was diagnosed as a yeast infection. But over the next few months, I had bladder infections, extremely bad, took strong antibiotics, diagnosed with bacterial vaginosis, then yeast infection had multiple tries at getting rid of it, which I would assume I had some string meds, went through a few doctors. For the last maybe half year, I have had no obvious symptoms like cottage cheese discharge, just white, never smelt even a bit till the last couple of months in which my discharge smells horrendous. It is a huge embarrassment. I have tried boric acid supplements, but I am honestly not sure if they did anything. The color may be a yellowish tinge sometimes but not very noticeable. All the while, the bumps come and go. It seems it may be a reaction to sex though, like most of my symptoms, they are so all over the place it is really hard to tell. A few months back, when I had the bumps, sex would start to feel like sandpaper, and using my fingers, it felt to me like pieces of sand. I am wondering if the skin being so inflamed and irritable that it would lose skin, just like when you rub dead skin off your face in the shower. I started to think that I am an anomaly and will have this forever.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I studied your problem carefully.

It is a problem with bumps and a really awful discharge. More details will be useful to further evaluate the problem.

1) Details of medications you used locally and orally if you know them.

2) Pictures of bumps will help in identifying the problem correctly.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am not sure of the medications I have used. I tried Hydrocortisone at the beginning of all this. I did not have any other symptoms when the doctor recommended it. I know I did atleast a round or two of antibiotics around this time from the bladder infections. I am not sure of the other prescribed medicines. I am sure I took something for a yeast infection as after when I still had issues, the doctor prescribed a single pill. It is hard to remember everything. I have done lots of over-the-counter yeast infection treatments. The thing is, my symptoms were bad enough to give me pain or irritation or burning pee half a year to a year ago, but though I know things are not better now, my symptoms are not bothersome like I mentioned, so I have not taken any other prescriptions. In fact, I do not think anyone sees a problem or knows what to prescribe as my last gynecologist ran tests that came back clean, I did not have any smell at that time, and the bumps cleared up at her visit.

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

I studied the pictures (attachments removed to protect the patient's identity) carefully.

Please note the use of Hydrocortisone only makes it appear that there is a relief, but it does not cure the disease. On the contrary, it increases disease most of the time. From a careful study of your problem, I believe it needs testing when there are symptoms or flare up if any. If there are no symptoms, there is no need for testing now.

1. You can take Fluconazole 150 mg one tablet once a week orally for two weeks.

2. You can also take Florastor 250 mg (probiotic supplement) one capsule daily orally after dinner for ten days.

Review after two weeks.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
