Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am 45 years old. Last week I started to get pain from my left chest to left hand. Then I consulted the physician and he suggested some medicines and suggested to go for blood diagnosis. Today I got my results for cholesterol. The reports are somewhat poor. The lab technician said that there is a lot of bad cholesterol in my body so he suggested going for a regular interval of checkup. What could I do for this?

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I have gone through your reports (attachment removed to protect patient identity). Except for the lipid profile, other parameters are fine. You should be started on tablet Rosuvastatin (Rosulip) 10 mg bedtime for eight weeks and repeat lipid profile after this time period. You should also have a healthy lifestyle like avoiding fatty, oily, and a high-calorie diet. Have low salt diet and monitor blood pressure regularly and BP should not be persistently more than 140/90 mmHg. Regular exercises like brisk walking, jogging according to your capacity at least 30 minutes a day and five days a week. Lots of green leafy vegetables, fruits, fish once or twice a week, avoid meat. Avoid smoking and alcohol, if any. There should not be abdominal fat deposition or obesity. You also need to get ECG, echo and TMT test done if needed after first two reports to know and ascertain the cause of chest pain. If it is determined to be cardiac on above tests then needs a further test.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
