Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I had sex on the first day of my period. I took an ECP on the same day eight hours after the act. It is one month now and I am six days late for my period. Previously, I had a regular cycle of 30 days. I had taken two pregnancy tests, one on the first day of the missed period and the other four days later and both are negative. Please suggest.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I have gone through your history and understand your concerns. As you had an I-pill, the chances of pregnancy are not there in your case. The delayed periods could be due to hormonal imbalance caused by I-pill. You can just wait and watch for your menses for three more days and repeat your home urine pregnancy test to rule out pregnancy.

Hope you found it useful, feel free to ask more information.

Patient's Query

Thank you doctor,

But, I had two tests and both were negative. So, is there any need to repeat the test? Also, sex was on the first day of my cycle. Do I need to worry?

Answered by Dr. Richa Agarwal

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Yes, you have to repeat the test after three to four days as it should be done after seven days of your missed period date. As you had sex on the first day of your menses, the chances of pregnancy are very low.

Hope that was useful.

Patient's Query

Thank you doctor,

Is there anything to worry about since the pill was taken on time?

Answered by Dr. Richa Agarwal

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

No, there is no need to worry about it, as you took the I-pill on time. But, you have to go for a pregnancy test to rule it out as a rule.

Good luck.

Patient's Query

Thank you doctor,

My period was due on the 15th and I have not got it yet. I tested with the morning urine on the 16th, 19th and on the 22nd again and got a negative test every time. Do I need to test again? If not, what should I do to induce periods? Please suggest.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

If the pregnancy test is negative, then there is no need to worry. You can confirm with a blood beta hCG testing. If that is negative, then you can wait and watch for a month.Regards.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
