Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am 18 years old. Since childhood, I have been an excellent student both in academics as well I sports. But recently in my final exams, I let everyone down. I am very upset and depressed because of my results. I want my parents to be proud of me once again.

Kindly help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Thank you for your query.

I understand your concern. I agree you have been an all-rounder all your life and have excelled in everything. This is probably the first time this has happened, and you feel you have let everyone down. This is not the end of the world. You will get more opportunities, and you can prove yourself. Do not give up. Even the best sportsmen can have a bad match. Much more than your family members, it seems like you have put a lot of pressure on yourself and have been unable to live up to it. It is natural to feel low, but please try to confide in a family member or a friend regarding this. If they cannot help you, consult a mental health professional.

I hope this has helped you. Thank you.
