Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I am suffering from loose motion as soon as I take food. I was taking a Loperamide tablet for this, but then it continued. What can I do? I am a police officer and I have to eat outside food only.

Please help me.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

You are having gastroenteritis infection of the intestinal tract after taking outside food. The bacterial and parasitic infestation has to be ruled out in your case. I will not advise taking Loperamide, before ruling out infective etiology by stool routine micro examination and occult blood test.

So, investigate with stool routine micro examination and occult blood test for further workup. Meanwhile,

1. Maintain your hydration with lots of water.

2. Cooked oatmeal help in soothing the stomach.

3. Curd should be taken more often.

4. Provide your stool report for proper treatment.

5. Ofloxacin and Ornidazole combination tablets can be taken for five days after submitting stool to the laboratory for routine micro examination.

6. Probiotic tablets can also be taken for a week.

Take care.

I hope this will help you.

Let me know if I can assist you further.
