Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I suffer from a chronic ear infection. When it started, I started taking ear drops and it worked for me. But my issue is due to my infection present in my inner ears. It keeps on coming back when I stop taking drops. I want to cure my inner ear infection. Does using Dexatob ear drops help in resolving it?

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

There is a possibility in you to have a chronic infection in the middle ear. It is located beyond the eardrum. In this situation, plain ear drops will not help to treat the infection. You require oral antibiotics to treat your infection completely. I suggest you take tablet Augmentin 625 mg (Amoxicillin with Clavulanic Acid) one tablet three times a day after food for a week and tablet Lcz 10 mg (Levocetirizine) one tablet in the night for a week. Try to keep your ears dry and do not allow entry of water inside your ears. Place sterile cotton in the entrance of the ear canal and change the cotton every six hours. Do not clean the ear using earbuds or any foreign objects as it can introduce new infections in the ears.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
