Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have thyroid issues and I am taking Thyronorm 88 mcg for it. I have a regular menstrual cycle, but I have had a light menstrual flow for the last month, and they come seven days early. And this month's periods came ten days early with the light flow again. What could be the reason?

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I read your query and understand your concern.

Variations in the menstrual cycle and bleeding may be because of hormone disturbance due to stress, thyroid issues, polycyctic ovary disease (PCOD), or other causes. I suggest you follow these measures.

1. Do an ultrasound of the abdomen for proper diagnosis.

2. Do thyroid function tests.

Send me the report as you get them, and it will help to advise you properly.

Maintain a healthy diet and exercise daily to avoid stress and hormonal issues. After consulting your specialist doctor, you can also take two Amycordial tablets twice daily for three months.

Thank you.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

Thank you for your response.

I have attached the reports. There are a few small immature follicles seen in both ovaries. How can I get rid of them?

Kindly help.

Thank you.

Answered by Dr. Rajesh Jain

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

I have reviewed the reports (attachments removed to protect the patient's identity). The ultrasound suggests some multiple small follicles, and your TSH (thyroid stimulating hormone) level is 0.35 mU/L, which is at a lower base level. Therefore, you can reduce the dose of thyroxine to 75 micrograms per day after consulting your specialist doctor.

I suggest you follow these measures.

(Consult a specialist doctor and take medications with their consent.)

1. Do perineal and pelvic exercises regularly.

2. Go for walks regularly.

3. Take 25 grams of coriander leaf juice daily in the morning on an empty stomach regularly.

4. Take flax seeds twice a day regularly.

5. Take one Amycordial tablet thrice daily for a few months.

Thank you.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

Thank you for your response.

Please confirm whether I have PCOD or not.

Thank you.

Answered by Dr. Rajesh Jain

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

The ultrasound report (attachment removed to protect the patient's identity) mentioned that there is no evidence of PCOD (polycystic ovarian disease).

Thank you.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

Thank you for your response.

1. What do immature follicles mean?

2. What is the reason behind this immature follicle formation?

Thank you.

Answered by Dr. Rajesh Jain

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

Initially, follicles are formed, and later they develop and become mature. Ovulation is the rupture of the follicles that usually occurs during the 13th to 16th days of the menstrual cycle. As you have regular periods, there are no multiple large follicles and no chance of PCOD (polycystic ovarian disease).

You can also take multivitamin tablets twice a day for three months.

Thank you.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

Thank you for your response.

Does having a period early as ten days with the light flow for 5 to 6 days included in the regular period?

Thank you.

Answered by Dr. Rajesh Jain

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

Every month you are getting periods not lasting for more than 15 to 30 days, and there is no absence of periods for months. Thus you have a regular menstrual cycle.

Thank you.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
