Patient's Query

Hello,

I have eczema and recently it is been looking like it gets better but then all of the sudden it flares up again. I wanted to ask for advice what I can do to help with healing and overcoming this. I did research of steroids and TSW, so I want to stay away from steroids or drugs.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Eczema can flare up due to a number of reasons. The key is to maintain a proper skin barrier by hydrating your skin to avoid allergen entry. Generally you should avoid using harsh soaps and detergents. You should use a gentle cleanser for cleaning and you should apply a bland, hypoallergenic moisturiser (no fragrance, no pthalates, no paraben) within two to three minutes. Always try to keep your skin moisturised. Dry your skin by patting or with a soft clean towel. Some people have specific type of allergy- Like some food- like eggs, fish, peanuts, soyabean, if you feel that certain food is causing flare ups, you should avoid that. Certain types of clothes - woollen clothes can cause itching, so don’t wear directly (wear it over cotton clothes). Clean your curtains or carpets regularly, change bedsheets. These are some things that you can do to avoid flare ups.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
