Hi doctor,
I am a 32 year old female. I have a regular menstrual cycle, and I get my periods on the fifth of every month. Last month on the eighth, I had unprotected sex with my fiance. I took Unwanted 72 (ECP) within an hour. As I took an ECP, when should I expect my next bleeding? Is there any chance to get pregnant? Today is the tenth day, and there is no sign of bleeding. Please tell me in detail. What should I do? I am very tensed. Please help me. Thanks.

As you had sex on the third day of your cycle, it was the safe period, so the chances of pregnancy are minimal. As you have taken Unwanted 72 for double protection, you should ideally get a withdrawal bleeding the next 7 to 10 days. You can actually wait for another three days. If you do not bleed, then get a serum beta hCG test done. If the hCG levels are less than 5, then you are surely not pregnant and can wait for your withdrawal bleeding to start naturally.
