Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I had unsafe sex with my partner on the 21st. My menstrual cycles for the last three months have been as follows: 18th, 13th, and 9th. I usually have four to five days of bleeding. Is there any possibility of getting pregnant? How could I avoid this chance of getting pregnant? Can I use I-pills yet? How many pills to consume? Are there any other preventive measures available? Could you please suggest to me my safe period?

Answered by Dr. Neha Rathod

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

From day 1 to 10 of the period, it is a safe period. There is no chance of pregnancy as there is no ovulation happening during this period. From day 12 to 24, it is a fertile period and there are high chances of pregnancy. Since you have not crossed 72 hours of intercourse, you can still take an emergency contraceptive pill. It is just one emergency pill within 72 hours of intercourse to prevent you pregnancy.

However, if you have a doubt then get back to me.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
