Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am 22 year old male. There is no crisis going on, but I think I am depressed. I cry a lot on emotional issues, and I cry easily. I get emotional while talking about my father who passed away four years ago, or leaving friends behind for a new job, or anything that takes people away from me, even if they will be connected afterward. I do not like being away from them. I have a fear of losing people with time, and I do not like a change in routine. Why do I get this emotional with people?

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

You are a person who is emotionally labile, and hence you feel the changes in your life. Life does change. Accept life as it comes. Being emotional will only make you more depressed rather than courageous. You have to be brave and open to handle the changes in your life. People will come and go, relationships can wither, but your courage and will should be strong enough to handle all these. Focus on a new hobby. Devote time for physical fitness. You will slowly get over it. After all, life is much more than all this. You can review with me for further follow-up. Thank you.
