Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

This is for my husband. He is a 34-year-old athletic male. Exactly a week back, he got a fever, body pain, cold, and cough. He had a high fever for two days and then a bit high temperature for a day with tiredness. Again he started feeling tired, some fever feeling inside the body (outside no temperature), body pain, throat pain with yellow phlegm and cough. He had Dolo 650. Can you suggest some medicine?

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I can understand your concern. By your history and description, the possibility of pharyngitis is more likely in your husband. Yellow phlegm is suggestive of bacterial infection. So he needs antibiotic like Augmentin for five days. Please let me know his weight so that I can guide you better about the dose of Augmentin. He should also start an anti-histamine drug like Levocetirizine. I will be happy to help you further.

Patient's Query

Thank you doctor,

His weight is 154.98 Ibs . Any food or supplement recommended to overcome tiredness?

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

According to his weight, he should take Augmentin 1000 mg twice daily. Levocetirizine 5 mg thrice daily along with Dolo 650. Tell him to drink plenty of fluids orally. Avoid oily and spicy food. Avoid hard to chew food. Do warm water gargles 5 to 6 times a day. He can take Supradyn tablet once a day. It is a good multivitamin drug. Warm milk with honey is also beneficial.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
