Hi doctor,
My wife underwent fibroid surgery last month, but she is still experiencing discomfort in the region where the anesthesia was given. Why does this happen? Is it normal to still be in pain? Does inappropriate administration cause discomfort? What should I do about the pain? And she cannot sleep as she finds it hard to sleep in a particular position?

The discomfort would last one to two days if she were given spinal anesthesia. It will not last for a month. Please get in touch with your gynecologist and let her know. You may need to consult a neurologist if she believes it is because of a back injection.
Injections are now delivered with tiny needles, and chances of pain are very rare.
