Is it possible for anesthesia for a spine surgery to cause pain and discomfort?

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I had a spinal cord injury last week, and an MRI revealed that I have a cyst at some d6-d7 level. I had surgery to get it removed. Now I have discomfort in the place where the anesthetic was administered? Is it possible that I will experience pain for another reason? or did I get it right? I am a little confused by this.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern.

Usually, in spinal surgery, a general anesthetic will be used for spinal surgery. There is no specific location for anesthetic. Anesthesia will be given through the IV (intravenous) line. During this process, a tiny tube will be put through the throat to provide oxygen. It will be removed after the procedures are completed. Also, let me know where the discomfort is, when it appears, and is it at the surgery site?

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
