Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I was hoping to find out more about the results of my most recent hepatitis B test. I underwent a routine test for all sexually transmitted diseases and one of my results for hepatitis B was positive. After a month, I repeated the test because I thought the results may be negative. The doctor told me nothing to worry about as my body had cleared the infection. But I am very worried about it. Please help.

Hi,

Welcome to the icliniq.com.

There is no reason to be worried because your hepatitis B surface antigen is negative. However, you might be anti-hepatitis antibody positive, which is not investigated in your report (attachment removed to protect the patient's identity). So your body is trying to clear the infection. If hepatitis B surface antigen remains persistently positive, it can be a chronic infection, but in your case, hepatitis B surface antigen is negative, and molecular test polymerase chain reaction is also negative. Please follow up for further assistance. Thank you.
