Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have pain in my head for 11 days. On the first day, I had a headache, pain in the left eye, vomiting twice with blood, post which I consulted a doctor. Doctor diagnosed and said that the probability of high BP. If the pain persists for five more days, do an MRI. I gave injection as in the attached prescription, and tablet Naxdom 500 mg. After five days, I did an MRI, and the result of the brain is good. I consulted the second doctor as the head pain, and random stomach pain was persisting. He diagnosed and gave tablets as attached. Stomach pain comes down, but head pain has not. It will be slight in the morning, and as the day progress, it increases. I have pain in my back of the head on the left side. Sometimes it is above the head also. For the past eight months, I am working from home, sitting in front of the system. Sometimes I feel pain in the neck. Please help. My last BP reading is 132/80.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I can understand your concern. According to your statement, you have been suffering from headaches for the last 11 days. Your MRI (magnetic resonance imaging) of the brain has revealed normal (attachment removed to protect patient identity).

Long hours of sitting in front of the computer can lead to neck tension, lack of circulation, and eyestrain, causing headaches. This type of headache may have resulted from glare on the screen, inadequate lighting, lack of proper computer brightness, color, etc. This headache may be associated with nausea, vomiting, dizziness, etc.

Again migraine, tension-type headache, cluster headache, low blood sugar level, and low iron level may result in such clinical symptoms.

As your headache is usually mild in the morning, but as the day passes, it worsens, so most probably, your headache is due to eye strain because of sitting for a long time in front of the computer.

You can take a break of 15 minutes every hour during your working time. Give rest for your eyes a few days and stay away from the computer to help cure your headache.

In the meantime, you can take Ibuprofen as a pain killer for headache and Amitriptyline for reducing your tension.

Patient's Query

Thank you doctor,

I am on holiday for the past two days and not facing PC, but my head pain persists. Stomach pains go and come. I am feeling a little tired and sleepy. Also, I slept in the afternoon for the past two days, which I never do.

For the past one year, a pain persists near the right bottom of the chest, right upper above ribs. I have gall bladder stones. Is it because of that or muscle cramp?

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

Are you suffering from cough and cold now? Impactation of mucus in sinuses may cause such type of headache. You can also consult with an eye specialist to examine your eyesight. You can undergo some investigations like CBC (complete blood count), RBS (random blood sugar), x-ray PNS (paranasal sinus), ECG (electrocardiography), etc., to detect the underlying causes for your headache and then treat them accordingly.

In the meantime, you can take the medications as follows:

Capsule Betacap Plus (10/40) 0+0+1 for one month, tablet Naprosyn 500 mg 1+0+1 (after meal) in the case of headache, tabletSompraz 40 mg 1+0+0 for 15 days.

Yes, gallbladder stones may cause such type of gastric irritation and chest pain. Ensuring daily bowel movement and neutralizing acidity may reduce such type of pain.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
