Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I have been suffering from headaches for the past two weeks, which were not continuous. I had a fever for two weeks, and I took tablet Paracetamol three times a day for three days, and only then did the headache start. Four days after the fever subsided, I again took a tablet Paracetamol for body pain. After that, I developed a headache again that lasted for the next three days. What should I do? Will the headache stop by itself? The whole forehead pains during headaches and regresses after adequate sleep. It is the first time I am facing such issues. I think the fever and cough were due to ice cream intake for two days. Please help me.

Hello,

Welcome to iCliniq.com.

I read your query and can understand your concern. Supposedly, a benign headache will go away on its own. So, I suggest taking tablet Norgesic (Orphenadrine Citrate, Aspirin, and Caffeine) for headaches. However, if the headache progresses or worsens for more than two weeks associated with fever, imaging tests such as a CT scan (computed tomography) or MRI scan (magnetic imaging test) may be required. If these test results are inconclusive, then a lumbar tap must be done to ensure there is no active infection of the brain.

I hope this will be helpful.
