Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

Please explain my mother’s latest test reports. Currently, she is taking Ramistar, Atorva, and Ecosprin. Please suggest.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I have gone through the reports (attachment removed to protect patient identity). The overall report is fine with some minor abnormalities. First, her hemoglobin is slightly low, which is likely due to an iron deficiency. So it is advisable to undergo a serum iron study. If it is deficient, then she can take iron supplements. She should take plenty of green leafy vegetables. Alternatively, she can also take an iron supplement like tablet Fericip XT (Elemental iron with Folic acid) once a day after lunch.

Her vitamin D level is low. So she can take tablet Uprise D3 60,000 units (Cholecalciferol) once a week for eight weeks. It has to be taken for six months. Her FSH (follicle stimulating hormone) and LH (luteinizing hormone) are elevated. It occurs due to her age and menopause.

Patient's Query

Thank you doctor,

Does her LDL level is fine? Is it fine to take heart medicines?

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

Yes, her LDL (low-density lipoprotein) level is fine. I want to know the reason for taking Ramistar and Aspirin. Have a habit of checking her BP (blood pressure) regularly, and most of the readings should be less than 140 by 90 mmHg. Her medicines appear to be fine.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
