Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have Hepatitis C. I got to know that I had it about a month ago. I noticed bruising on my leg but I have been drinking natural things and they have been working to clear it. I used to be tired all the time but now I have become able to do things. I have noticed a cooling sensation on the left side of my chest and my body tends to get cold at times. I have read that this disease can go away on its own, so I have been trying every little thing. I wanted to know if it is getting cured? Also, I wanted to know if it gets cured, will I still be contagious to passing on the disease to someone else? Please help me out regarding this.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I have read your query and understand your concern. First of all, the proper protocol for the treatment of Hepatitis C is to get HCV (hepatitis C virus) antibodies test, HCV RNA (hepatitis C virus ribonucleic acid) levels test, liver function tests and ultrasonography of the abdomen. Depending on these reports, the treatment for Hepatitis C is decided. It is not always necessary that it requires treatment. Sometimes it is left untreated. The decision to treat or not depends on the reports of the tests I mentioned. To evaluate, I will be needing all of these reports so that I can guide you further properly and clearly. Secondly, Hepatitis C does not cause bruising or abnormal sensations in the arm. Those symptoms are not related to Hepatitis C. Also, I need to know your age, any other symptoms, history of alcohol intake, and your Hepatitis B status or vaccination status. Kindly revert with these answers so that I can help you better. Hope this was helpful. Thank you.
