Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am asking on behalf of my husband. He is 31 years. He is 5.11 feet in height and weighs about 180 lbs. He is an overall healthy man.

He had a huge testicle on one side, whereas the other one is in regular size. He never thinks much of it and says they are pretty much like that for long years.

Recently we noticed that his large testicle has shrunk down to the size of the smaller ones. Could there be something wrong, or is it normal?

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Firstly, I would like to say that it is very commendable that your husband is as much aware of his testicle. Usually, people do not notice the difference in the size of testicles unless it is very significant. I believe that difference would have been significant in your husband's case.

Now the problem would have arisen if the smaller testis would have the size of the big one. Since the bigger one has shrunk down to the smaller one and does not have any other symptoms, I would consider it a benign condition. But if you want to get it tested, you can always get an ultrasound done to see the problem.

I hope you are not suffering from any other symptoms such as swelling of the scrotum, varicocele, etc. Because if these conditions were present, then the testis' different size would have to be read in a different context.

I hope this helps.

Investigations to be done

Ultrasound scrotum.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
