Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have been suffering from a skin infection. There is a fungal infection on my hip region that is not getting resolved even after applying Quadriderm cream. The infection is spreading gradually and the irritation is high.

Please help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I went through your query and understood your concern.

It seems you are suffering from a condition called tinea cruris. It is a fungal infection of the inner thighs and buttocks area that can be treated by taking four to six weeks of anti-fungal treatment, including tablets and creams. I suggest you do not use soap over the affected area. Over-the-counter steroids containing creams like Quadriderm (Beclomethasone, Neomycin, and Clotrimazole), Candid (Clotrimazole), etc can lead to repeated cases of recurrence and also side effects due to application.

Kindly consult a specialist doctor, talk with them, and take medicines with their consent.

I hope this has helped you.

Thanks and regards.
