Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

My boyfriend found a tick on his body and had been bitten by it around three days ago. He started noticing rashes/bites/redness on his feet and thought something else had bitten him during the night. It became more severe and he could not feel his hands at one point. He saw a doctor and has been diagnosed with Lyme disease. He is on antibiotics now and other medications (can provide more detail and pictures if needed) for the next two weeks and two months. I was wondering though despite taking medication is there anything he can do to relieve his pain/itching/articulation? Also, he feels his hands are paralyzed and he can not move them as normal. Would some cream or natural remedies help? Would appreciate some advice on the matter.

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I am here to provide expert opinions on your medical issues. You need to understand that only antibiotics work in the acute Lyme disease that your friend has. Supportive medications, or natural therapy except for a healthy diet with predominantly fruits and green vegetables are the treatment. However, in chronic Lyme disease physiotherapy, relaxation exercises, and fish oil are helpful. You need to wait at least one week before experimenting with natural therapy as the treatment of infection is life-saving at this point.
