Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I had sex 20 days before, but he did not insert his sperm. But this month, I did not get periods and am not hungry for the whole day. Kindly help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

If unprotected sex, there is a 50 % chance that pre-ejaculatory fluid can enter and cause pregnancy. Other reasons for the delay in the period include infection if the white discharge is present. You can take a tablet of Doxycycline 100 mg twice a day for five days. If it is due to hormonal issues, plan for TFT (thyroid function test). If it is due to PCOS (polycystic ovarian disease), then an ultrasound of the abdomen is required. If it is due to anemia, then check for hemoglobin. If it is due to vitamin deficiency, check for Folic acid, vitamin B, or vitamin D. If it is due to dehydration, ensure you take adequate water. For now, you can tablet Livogen (Ferrous fumarate, Folic acid, and Zinc sulfate) once a night and plan for investigation so we can plan for management. Consult your specialist doctor, discuss with them, and take medications with their consent. I hope this helps you.

Thank you.
