Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am a 28-year-old male with a height of 5'8 feet and a weight of 57 kgs. I have erectile dysfunction, but my erection is not hard enough to penetrate. Sometimes it is hard and cannot maintain for a long time. Earlier, I used to get early morning erections, but now it is rare. Please help.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Before I could help you with, tell me the following:

1) Do you have any history of diabetes or hypertension or any chronic disease for which you are taking treatment?

2) Is there any history of injury to the lower back or scrotum?

3) Is any treatment taken?

4) Are you married or engaged in regular sex?

5) Is there any recent stress?

Thanks.

Patient's Query

Thank you doctor for the reply,

I do not have diabetes, hypertension, or injury. I have Wilson's disease, detected before 21 years and on tablet Penicillamine 250 mg thrice daily, tablet Pyridoxine 40 mg half tablet daily, and tablet Serta 25 mg once daily. I have no recent stress, and have a good job, financial status, and supporting family and friends. I was married three months back, but still, I am a virgin. Before one to two years, I used to get a good erection. Two to three years ago, I was depressed due to a failed project and started taking tablet Serta 50 mg twice daily on the doctor's advice. Now, the dose is reduced to 25 mg once daily.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

As such, Wilson's disease or its treatment are not known to result in erectile dysfunction. So I do not think this is the cause of your problem. Remain relaxed.

Tablet Sertraline too is safe to use, and at 25 mg dose, the drug is not known to result in sexual side effects.

For poor erection, I would suggest you start tablet Sildenafil or Tadalafil. Tablet Tadalafil in a dose of 5 mg daily for about four to six weeks should help to improve the erection and aid in easy penetration.

Most of the individuals with ED (erectile dysfunction) have psychological stress as a cause of the poor erection. So try to remain relaxed.

I advise you to get some tests done. First, get your serum testosterone, prolactin levels to rule out the hormonal cause. Also, get a Colour doppler penis to rule out the vascular cause of erectile dysfunction.

Regards.

Patient's Query

Thank you doctor for the advice,

Can you please issue me a prescription for the medicines and tests?

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

For tests, you can visit a good laboratory and get the tests done.

As per guidelines, it is not possible to provide prescriptions online. However, you can visit a registered doctor nearby and get the prescription.

I hope this helps you.
