Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am a 38 year old male. The head of my penis is red and I have been using Hydrocortisone cream 2.5 % to treat the redness. It seems to make it go away temporarily but it keeps coming back. I do have psoriasis on my elbows and the butterfly on my nose and under my eyes. I also have rosacea on my face. At times, the redness is accompanied by white crusty flakes. Is this an STD? What treatment would you recommend? This has been on my penis for a year, and I have uploaded some images for you to look at. I always use a condom during sexual intercourse if this information is relevant. Please advise.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I went through the clinical images you uploaded (attachment removed to protect patient identity). Please describe the symptoms in detail. Is there a burning sensation, pain, or itching? Is it increasing in size? Is any other family member affected? Looking forward to your response in order to help you.

Patient's Query

Thank you doctor,

It could be increasing in size. I do not think any other family members have this. At times, the redness is accompanied by white crusty flakes. Sometimes, there is pain if I do not put the Hydrocortisone cream on it.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

Do not worry. It is not an STD (sexually transmitted disease). You are suffering from psoriasis of the glans. I suggest you use Mometasone cream twice daily. Relapses are very common even with treatment. Hope it helps.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
