Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I have itching and scars. The condition continues to grow. It appears to be worse at times. My mother and daughter also seem to have the same condition. I am taking Hydrocortisone and Clotrimazole. Here doctor told me it is an allergy due to a cat. I am attaching the pictures. Kindly give your opinion.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern. It might be scabies. Can you please tell me which time of the day or night itching is more? Which body parts are affected more? Also, please send a picture of the affected area from a bit far away. Difficult to see in the attached pictures (attachments removed to protect the patient's identity). What is the duration? I mean, since how many days you have this? Please reply in the free follow-up so that I can suggest you some treatment.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

Thank you. This is what my Fiancée thought it was. Please help. It itches much more at night time. The upper thigh areas and my waist. My buttocks area as well. I have also experienced the condition around my breast. I have been dealing with this condition for five or six months. I am attaching the picture. Kindly help me.

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

Thanks for sharing the pictures (attachments removed to protect the patient's identity). Scabies is caused by a mite Sarcoptes scabiei. It can spread by contact as well as clothes. I suggest you take the following medications. Use Cream Permethrin 5%, apply a whole cream below neck all over the body at night time, wash in the morning and repeat after one week. So take two creams for one patient. Treat all contacts with the same. Take Tablet Ivermectin 12 mg once per week for two weeks, Tablet Levocetirizine 5 mg twice a day, use Cream Cosvate G (Clobetasol and Gentamicin), apply twice a day to individuals with lesions only. Wash all your clothes and bedsheets in warm water and dry in the sun if possible. Levocetirizine needs to be taken for two to three weeks as it takes time for itching to subside completely. I hope this was helpful. Please follow up after ten days.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
