Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

For the past month, I have had itching on my vulva, which is getting worse. Initially, I thought it was a yeast infection, but there was no vaginal discharge. However, there is severe itching on the outer vulva, which is unavoidable. After scratching, I get relief. And also, I think it is swollen because of the scratching. So I guess it may be eczema. Can you please suggest what I should do to treat itching?

Thank you.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I went through your query and understood your concern.

It seems like you have some vaginal infection which is causing the problem. Please get yourself checked by a gynecologist internally and get a vaginal swab test done. However, I suggest you to follow the instructions mentioned below,

1. Avoid having sex till then.

2. Wear cotton panties and loose clothes.

3. Maintain personal hygiene and take plenty of fluids.

4. Wash your private parts with normal tap water every time you use the washroom.

5. Avoid using vaginal douches and creams.

Kindly follow up with the reports so that I can guide you further.

Take care.
