Q. Is it normal to have gas bubbles in stools?

I am 35 years old. I have gas bubbles in my stools with an unpleasant smell. I am also underweight and have GERD-like symptoms. What could be the reason for this?

Gas bubbles in stools are normal. I mean, stool and gas have the same passage. If you have GERD (gastroesophageal reflux disease), then you should be evaluated and treated. It is an average weight for your age. Regarding your GERD symptoms, I suggest the following medications.
(Consult your specialist doctor, talk with them, and take medications with their consent.)
1. Capsule Pantoprazole 40 mg once daily a half hour before breakfast for two weeks.
2. Antacids syrup 10 ml after each meal and as per need at night time.
I hope this will improve your symptoms. Avoid fatty meals and spicy meals for two to four weeks.
