Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

My wife and I have fungal infections. I have ring-like infection on thighs and on buttocks. My wife has a little lump like infection around the vagina which are so itchy and burning sensation. We took tablet Terbinafine 250 mg for two weeks and Clotrimazole cream. It had good results but it recurred again. We started Fluconazole 150 mg once a week for two weeks. Kindly give us an effective and permanent solution.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

As you mentioned that you have ring-like lesion, it suggests you have Tinea cruris. It is a kind of fungal infection only. Since infection has recurred we need to start you on better antifungal treatment for a long term relief and to prevent further recurrences. Clotrimazole is not effective for tinea infection. Now your wife also has vaginal candidiasis, Clotrimazole is good for that. Do not worry. These infections can easily be managed with proper antifungal treatment. I do not get the option of uploading the prescription on this query platoform, so I would advise you to take a phone appointment so I can upload the prescription for you and your wife. Advice: Wear lose fitting clothes. Tinea increase with sweating so try to stay in cool area. Keep your towel and soap seperately. Kindly follow back so I can provide definitive long term treatment. Thanks and regards
