Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I have a skin issue that I had for many years and no doctor has given me a diagnosis or even treatment. It does not itch or cause any feeling but it spreads and feels very dry to touch.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I have seen the photo (attachment removed to protect patient identity) and read your brief history from the picture, it looks to be fungal infection (Tinea versicolor). Do not worry as it would take two to six weeks to fade off with proper treatment and few measures. You can apply Candid TV lotion (Clotrimazole and Selenium Disulfide) to be applied on the area in a thin layer for five minutes and washed off, twice weekly, KZ (Ketoconazole) soap to wash twice daily and take Tablet Cetirizine 10 mg one tablet at night for seven days (if itching is present). Apply these for two weeks and review, the the lesions are not subsiding, you might need to take few doses of oral anti-fungal medication. Also follow these measures. Keep area always dry. Use only dry clothes. Wear loose, and breathable cotton clothes. Iron your clothes before wearing to kill the fungal molds. Wash the affected area with lukewarm water. Frequent changing of bed linens and towels. Do not share your personal items. I hope your query is cleared. Thank you and take care.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
