Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I have queries regarding my wife pregnancy. Please check the attached report and guide us.

Answered by Dr. Monica Mathur

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I have gone through the files (attachment removed to protect patient identity) regarding your wife's pregnancy. It is her second pregnancy with one normal delivery before five years. She is eleven weeks pregnant and it is necessary to do an ultrasound scan of the pelvis to know if there is any congenital anomaly, the position of the placenta, and the well being of the baby. Her blood test reports are normal but she needs to do other tests such as hemoglobin level, VDRL (Venereal Disease research Laboratory Test), and urine examination. She should take tablet Folvite 5 mg (Folic acid) twice a day apart from antiemetic drugs. She needs to take iron tablets and calcium tablet-like tablet Shelcal 500 mg (Calcium with vitamin D3) once a day after a week. Her pregnancy seems to be normal but the ultrasound report gives a confirmative diagnosis. Please revert with the ultrasound scan report.

Patient's Query

Thank you doctor,

After the first ultrasound, it was told that it is a vanishing pregnancy syndrome and in the second ultrasound, it is told about the subchronic collection. Please clarify these doubts. Can I know whether these situations cause any harm to my baby or mother?

Answered by Dr. Monica Mathur

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

The sub-chorionic collection of blood can be treated if the baby is developing normally. So there is a need to watch closely on the baby's development. You need to take consultation of your of OBG (obstetrician and gynecologist) with close follow up of USG (ultrasound).

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
