Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

My fiancee and I had some intimacy a month ago and we had a hunch that she might get pregnant although we did not have sex. We were close but I do not think that anything should happen because we both were wearing clothes (undergarments). Because of this hunch, she took Unwanted 72 under 12 hours. She took the pill a few days ago. Now, its been more than a week and she did not have her periods. Also, she is a virgin. Are there chances of pregnancy? For how much longer will the periods be delayed?

Answered by Dr. Richa Agarwal

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I have gone through your history and understand your concerns.

As she had Unwanted 72 (Levonorgestrel), the chances of pregnancy are not there in your case. Delayed menses could be due to hormonal imbalance caused by the pill. Just wait and watch for your menses. If missed by seven days get your home urine pregnancy test done.

Patient's Query

Thank you doctor,

She is 12 days late right now in having periods. What should she do?
