Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I fully understand your concern and will surely help you.

See emergency contraceptive pills like Unwanted 72 pills are hormone-based and they have this known side effect of changing the menstrual cycle pattern in some females, especially the cycle in which they are taken. They lead to a delay of approximately a week to 10 days in periods. The other signs which you have mentioned are also seen in certain females as a result of emergency contraceptive pills. When did you take the medicines, and when was your last menstrual period? Do not worry. You will not get pregnant.

Patient's Query

Thank you doctor,

I took the first pill on 14th July night and second pill on 15th morning. My last period was on 10th July.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

Do not worry. It is barely a month post your last cycle. You need not worry. What is your normal cycle length? You seem to be very stressed out that you are awake so early in the morning.

Patient's Query

Thank you doctor,

Mine is two to three days of period.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

Do not worry. You are fine. The signs which you have explained are primarily due to the back to back dosage of emergency contraceptive pill, which are progesterone based and trigger actions in your body which lead to changes in your menstrual pattern. I was requesting you what is the gap between your two cycles. If it is 28-35 days, then as it is you are doing well. Do not take stress.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
