Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

Is it alright to take Unwanted 72 twice in one cycle (one on the 12th day and the other on the 24th day) if my period is generally 35 days or more? I have PCOS. I am not taking regular contraceptive pills.

Thanks.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern.

It is not recommended at all. Ideally, a withdrawal bleed should be expected in the next three to five days after taking unwanted 72, but if no bleed occurs, then a serum beta hCG (human chorionic gonadotrophin) test should be done to rule out pregnancy. The second pill taken would have masked the withdrawal bleed following the first pill. Hence, if again there is no bleed in the next four to five days after the second pill intake, kindly rule out pregnancy with a serum beta hCG test. If the hCG levels are less than 5 mIU/mL, you are indeed not pregnant, and you can safely wait for your menses to arrive naturally. Practice barrier contraception hence.

I hope this information will help you.

Thanks.
