Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern.

This can be urethritis, as you mentioned, or can be prostatitis. It needs prolonged antibiotic therapy to prevent relapse. I suggest you take tablet Septra DS (Sulfamethoxazole and Trimethoprim) twice a week for four weeks, followed by once a day for one month (to be taken at bedtime), tablet Chymoral forte (Trypsin and Chymotrypsin) twice daily for ten days, syrup Citralka (Disodium hydrogen Citrate) 10 ml trice daily for two weeks, and sitz bath twice a day for 15 minutes morning and evening for one month. It should get settled after this regimen.

I hope this information will help you.

Thanks.

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern.

Due to the rules of telemedicine, I cannot write a formal prescription as it is not valid, but what other patients do is get this prescription written by a local general practitioner. I am confident that this regimen will work for you.

I hope this information will help you.

Thanks.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

Thanks for the reply.

I only managed to get Trimethoprim in the end. And it has worked well. Is it normal for the symptoms to flare up sometimes during the treatment? It has happened randomly a few times. A bit of tingling or minor discomfort, then it disappears within an hour or a few hours. Is that cause for concern or just part of the process? Should I have pushed for Septra or Bactrim?

Thank you.

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern. That is fine. Trimethoprim or Sulfamethoxazole, but if you cannot find a combination, then Trimethoprim is also alright.

I hope this information will help you.

Thanks.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

Thanks for the reply.

What is the average time frame for symptoms to be 100 % disappear? Should it be during or after treatment? I am now five days from finishing the prescribed medicine. The discomfort and tingling return randomly almost weekly (a day or two, usually at different times). Is that normal, or do I need treatment?

Thanks.

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern.

Most symptoms go away near the end of treatment. If they are persistent, we can continue the drug regimen for eight weeks. Recurrence is common, so that is why the total duration of treatment is long.

I hope this information will help you.

Thanks.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
